This is a photo of my kids that I absolutely adore. They just look so sweet and plump and glowing from within with happiness that it makes me happy every time I look at it. Can't ask for a better subject than that! I'm still trying to get the hang of oils and figure out what I really love to paint (portraits, abstract) and I know I want to paint this on a large scale one day so I thought a small 6 x 6 study in my sketchbook is a good start. I spent about 4 hours painting and an hour or two sketching the image on in pencil first. not quite "finished" but as a study its good enough for now...may come back to it later.
